Amazon Aurora MySQL zero-ETL integration with Amazon Redshift is now generally available

“Data is at the center of every application, process, and business decision,” wrote Swami Sivasubramanian, VP of Database, Analytics, and Machine Learning at AWS, and I couldn’t agree more. A common pattern customers use today is to build data pipelines to move data from Amazon Aurora to Amazon Redshift. These solutions help them gain insights to grow sales, reduce costs, and optimize their businesses. To help you focus on creating value from data instead of preparing data for analysis, we announced Amazon Aurora zero-ETL integration with Amazon Redshift at AWS re:Invent 2022 and in public preview for Amazon Aurora MySQL-Compatible Edition in June 2023. Now generally available: Amazon Aurora MySQL zero-ETL integration with Amazon Redshift Today, we announced the general…

New Customization Capability in Amazon CodeWhisperer Generates Even Better Suggestions (Preview)

An AI coding companion, such as Amazon CodeWhisperer, aims to improve developers’ productivity by helping them write code quickly and securely. However, in particular cases, developers need to have code recommendations based on their internal libraries and APIs they extensively use every day. As most of the existing AI coding companion tools are trained only on open-source codes, they lack the capability to customize the code recommendations using private code repositories. This limitation presents a variety of challenges for developers. Developers have a difficulty learning how to use internal libraries correctly and avoid security problems. For large codebases, it requires hours of reading documentation to understand what code needs to be written to complete the task. Now in Preview —…

Last Week’s Launches Here are some of the launches that caught my attention last week: Add Your Swift Packages to AWS CodeArtifact – In this article, Seb describes how Swift developers who write code for Apple platforms (iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, watchOS, visionOS or Swift) applications running on the…

New — Deliver Interactive Real-Time Live Streams with Amazon IVS

Live streaming is becoming an increasingly popular way to connect customers with their favorite influencers and brands through interactive live video experiences. Our customers, DeNA and Rooter, rely on Amazon Interactive Video Service (Amazon IVS), a fully managed live streaming solution, to build engaging live stream and interactive video experiences for their audiences. In March we introduced Amazon IVS support for multiple hosts in live streams to further provide flexibility in building interactive experiences, by using a resource called stage. A stage is a virtual space where participants can exchange audio and video in real time. However, latency is still a critical component to engaging audiences and enriching the overall experience. The lower the latency, the better it is to connect with live audiences…
